There are a great many sites on the Internet that make Internet safety its main topic. There are also a lot of people who have had bad experiences from a situation that stemmed from an online relationship and wish to let as many people know about that as possible in hopes that the same thing will not happen again to someone else - we need to take advantage of any Internet safety tip that can be offered by those that should know. The Internet makes for an ideal place for people to try and prey on others in whatever way that they wish. You never really know who it is on the other side of the keyboard and people that you come into contact with on the Internet should always be treated with a fair amount of suspicion. And so the most important Internet safety tip to keep in mind is just that - so do not give out too much information about yourself that someone else could use against you in any way. This especially pertains to the information that someone could use to actually contact you or find you. It is always ok to be honest with the people that you meet and you will want to explain yourself and many things about who you are and what makes you tick, but that does not have to include personal information until a much later date, if at all. Just this one Internet safety tip will save you from potential problems.

Treat the Internet for what it is and take any good Internet safety tip you find - and put it into practice!

The key to not becoming the prey of an Internet predator is to know what to look for. Much of what Internet predators do, how they go about things are similar in nature and should send up red flags.
